You can manage a voiding study directly from the resident profile.

Starting a voiding study

To start a voiding study from the resident profile:

  1. Navigate to the resident page.

  2. Select Toileting.

  3. Click Voiding Studies.

  4. Click Start Study on the right side of the page.

Starting a voiding study will:
• Begin a 72 hour (3 day) study period
• Prompt caregivers to chart toileting every 2 hours
• Automatically remind caregivers in the Jana app every 2 hours during the study

Starting a voiding study from an alert

A voiding study can also be started from Active Alerts.

If an alert indicates a change in continence status:
• You will be prompted to either start a voiding study, or
Ignore the alert if no action is needed

This allows nurses to quickly respond to changes in resident condition.

Modifying or discontinuing a voiding study

To modify or discontinue an active voiding study:

  1. Navigate to the resident page.

  2. Select Toileting.

  3. Click Voiding Studies.

  4. Select the active study and choose the appropriate action to update or discontinue it.

Ending the study will stop caregiver prompts and charting requirements related to the voiding study.

Voiding studies help ensure accurate assessment of continence patterns and support appropriate care planning based on observed data.
