What are Announcements?

Announcements are a communication tool used to ensure important messages are seen by caregiving staff in the Jana app.

Announcements can be sent from either the administration level or the Facility level and help standardize communication across your facilities.

Types of Announcements

There are two types of announcements in Jana:

1. Required Acknowledgement Announcements

  • Displayed as a full-screen message in the Jana app

  • Displayed when a caregiver logs in or reopens the app after it becomes inactive

  • Caregivers must acknowledge the announcement before continuing with day-to-day activities

  • Provides attestation, allowing administrators and nurses to see which caregivers have acknowledged the message and which have not

Best used for:

  • Compliance-related updates

  • Policy or procedure changes

  • Critical or time-sensitive communications

2. FYI Announcements

  • Displayed as a list item on the Jana app homepage

  • Do not require acknowledgment

  • Intended for informational messages only

Best used for:

  • General updates

  • Events, parties, or announcements of interest

Who can create announcements?

  • Administrators can create organization-wide announcements that apply to multiple facilities.

  • Nurses can create announcements for only the facilities they have access to.

Announcements ensure caregivers receive the right information at the right time, with acknowledgment tracking available when compliance is required.
