How do I resolve a nurse task?

Have more questions? Submit a request

Nurse Tasks are resolved through clinical review and judgment based on the issue identified.

To resolve a Nurse Task:

  1. Open the Nurse Task and review the prompt to understand what triggered it.

  2. Take the appropriate clinical action. This may include:

Reviewing or updating the resident’s care plan
Updating an ADL baseline for caregiving staff
Reviewing a diagnosis that does not align with the current care plan
Contacting the resident’s primary care physician if needed

  3. Once the appropriate action has been taken, mark the Nurse Task as Resolved. Mark Ignored if there is no action to take.

Understanding nurse task outcomes

Nurse Tasks are often generated when the system identifies a difference between a resident’s documented care plan and caregiver charting, such as ADL performance or restorative activity.

In some cases:
• The care plan is correct, and the ADL baseline should be updated
• The ADL baseline is correct, and the care plan should be updated in the EHR

You can either:
• Update the care plan directly in your EHR, or
• Quickly update the ADL baseline for caregiving staff directly within the nurse task.

Other Nurse Tasks may require additional clinical review, documentation, or follow-up outside the system.

Resolving Nurse Tasks ensures resident care remains accurate, aligned, and clinically appropriate.
