An observation type in Jana is a predefined category used to organize and track resident observations on the resident profile.
Common observation types include:
Toileting
Mobility
Vitals
Nutrition, etc.
Within the Care Task Manager, each custom care task can be assigned to an observation type.
When a care task is associated with an observation type:
All charting related to that task is grouped under the corresponding section on the resident profile
Observations are easier to find, review, and report on
Care documentation remains organized and consistent across residents
Defining an observation type is not required when creating a custom care task. Tasks can still be created and completed by caregivers without being tied to a specific observation category.
Assigning an observation type is optional but recommended when you want task-related charting to appear in a specific section of the resident profile.
