What is the Care Task Manager?

Have more questions? Submit a request

The Care Task Manager allows nursing staff to create and manage care tasks that caregivers (CNAs) are responsible for completing for residents.

Care tasks represent specific actions caregivers need to perform, separate from standard ADL charting.

Jana includes a set of pre-configured care tasks, such as:

  • Applying bunny boots in the morning and evening

  • Applying CPAP at night and removing it in the morning

  • And more

In addition to these defaults, nurses can create custom care tasks to meet the specific needs of their facility or residents.

What can be configured for a care task?

When creating or managing a care task, nursing staff can customize:

  • Task title

  • Task description

  • Category where the task appears in the resident menu (such as Nutrition, Mobility, Walking, etc.)

  • Whether the task is required

  • Frequency at which the task must be completed

Why use the Care Task Manager?

The Care Task Manager gives nursing staff flexibility to:

  • Standardize common caregiver responsibilities

  • Reuse the same care tasks across multiple residents

  • Ensure required tasks are completed consistently and on schedule

  • Reduce reliance on free-text notes or informal reminders

This helps improve accountability, consistency of care, and visibility into caregiver task completion.
